INTRODUCTION
:
The Quaid-e-Azam College of Commerce, founded in 1962, is a constituent College of the University of Peshawar and is located at the heart of the beautiful Campus of the University. The College is one of the premier institution of the N.W.F.P, offering One Year and Two Years Master of Commerce Programmes under semester system. At present, the College offers specialization in Finance, Accounting, Marketing and Information Technology and is not only serving the need of business education within the province but also catering to some extent the demands of other provinces.

COURSES :-
B.Com Four semester Programme:
1st Semester
501 Financial Accounting
It covers basic concepts involved in the elaboration of financial information for external decision making. The analysis & interpretation of financial statements, ledger, settlements, trial balance and closings are the major topics covered.
503 Business Law
In this subject students are taught about the formation of different policies at central level covering the aspects of product, customers, pricing, advertising, production, personnel, and finance.
505 Business Mathematics
This course is an introduction to fundamental operations of mathematics with applications to business problems. The topics include linear equation, system of linear equation, linear function, quadratic & polynomial function, matrix algebra, differentiation and integral calculus.
507 Introduction to Management
This course covers the fundamental Management principles and methodology and their application to manufacturing and other enterprises. It covers in detail manager’s function in general business, organization structure, planning process, organizing individuals, information flow, motivation, leadership, decision-making process & managerial ethics.
509 Marketing
Advancement in Technology and knowledge explosion are making more opportunities for marketeer, while on the other hand giving unprecedented challenges. In response to these challenges the marketeers will have to learn to make decisions more quickly and effectively. This course will equip the student with an understanding of the basic principles of marketing, so as to be an effective manager in today’s highly competitive, market driven economy.
511 Programming with MS Visual Basic and MS Access
The major benefit of this course is to equip students with the databases world. The potential concepts of DBMS and database models is best illustrated through Ms-Access and a high level programming language called Visual Basic. The objective is to provide an in depth understanding of the design and implementation of databases in a heterogeneous environment.
2nd Semester
502 Advanced Financial Accounting
This advanced level course in Accounting has been designed to equip students with the topics relating to Mergers, Acquisitions and Reconstruction of Joint Stock Companies.
504 Human Resource Management
The importance of human resource cannot be overemphasized in the modern world. The contents will help students to grasp the main concerns of Human Resource Management in today’s dynamic business environment. The course deals with the issues of recruitment, training, motivational techniques, different performance appraisal procedures, and their use for efficient handling of human resource.
506 Quantitative Techniques in Business
To enable the students to understand mathematics that is related to the business activities, this course acts as the foundation stone. It aims at refreshing the mathematical business related matematical skills.
508 Management Process
This subject concentrates on the internal aspects of management in an organization. To this effect special focus is on the individuals whose expert services are hired to resolve the problems faced by the people within the organizations and possible complication that arise due to induction of such people. Apart from that special emphasis is also placed on authority, power and influence, to nurture formal leadership in a manner that is identical to informal leaders. Lastly but not least in its significance knowledge is also disseminated to the students regarding the behavioral aspects of controlling devices so that whenever they start their career they may find themselves fully equipped with the possible techniques that may help them out to secure positive responses from their sub-ordinates and ultimately putting the whole organization on a track of success.
510 Project Management
The subject introduces the vital aspects of the project planning, appraisal, implementation and monitoring. It also throws light on the project life cycle, with special emphasis on approval process in the context of Pakistan.
512 Analysis and Design of Business Information Systems
This course aims to study and analyze various business environments and their information-system needs. Information systems such as MIS, DPS, DSS, ESS & ERP etc. are given to students in order to recognize the need of such information system in any given scenarios.
(B.Com Two Year) (four semester)
3rd Semester
601 Financial Statement Analysis: It aims to develop basic skills in the analysis of financial statements which is needed in a variety of decision taking steps e.g. equity valuation, forecasting firm-level economic variables, distress prediction and credit analysis.
603 Statistical Techniques in Research: Presentation of Statistical Techniques are applied to the traditional research methodologies. The course emphasizes on the application of statistical tools in research.
605 Strategic Management: The course has been designed to fit the 21st century needs of organization Strategy. It will help preparing students for the exciting economy they are about to enter. It provides a state of art treatment of the critical business skills needed to analyse, formulate and implement strategic activates plan and manage strategic activities.
607 E-Commerce : Today’s world is a global village. Internet has become the biggest resource to share information. This course aims at understanding the underlying concepts between the online business-to-business and business-to-consumer transaction and their methodologies undertaken.

609 Corporate Accounting: This course examines the particular accounting and external reporting requirements of companies. The requirements vary from the components of business to the legislative and professional skills.
611 Budgetary Control: This course aims to provide a detailed understanding of system of creating budgets, monitoring progress & taking application to achieve budgeted performance
MARKETING GROUP :
613 Consumer Behavior : All those who want to have a thorough knowledge of Marketing, are bound to learn about the field of research on consumer behavior. This course is designed to equip the students with modern techniques of knowing the consumer behavior.
615 Selling Techniques in Business: The objective of this course of study is to help the Sales Managers and Sales People of today and tomorrow prepare them for the challenging and exciting years ahead so that the transition from Sales to Sales Management to Marketing becomes a natural progression for the young managers.
(M.Com Programme:
4th Semester
602 Financial Management: The objective of this course is to provide theoretical and conceptual knowledge of finance to the students. The course covers wide areas of finance.
604 Research Methods: The study of social research methods should sharpen the powers of critical thinking and evaluation and enable the student to become more intelligent gatherer of information.
606 Organizational Behavior: Effectively managing human organizations is an extremely difficult and complex undertaking. There are no easy answers. The subject of Organizational Behavior attempts to provide improved understanding and application techniques that can actually help meet the challenge.
ACCOUNTING GROUP
610 Accounting for Specialized Concerns: This subject covers some specials topics of Holding Company, Insurance Company and Banking Company. This is design to equip students with in depth knowledge of above major topics.
612 Advanced Cost and Management Accounting: The objective of this course is to provide detailed knowledge of the advanced concepts of Cost & Management Accounting to the students who pass their B.Com. (Honours).
MARKETING GROUP
614 E-Marketing: The potential constituent of this course is understanding and incorporating the traditional concepts of marketing into the electronic media. It deals with the ways how a product can be marketed online and also involves buying/selling through online payment system.
616 International Marketing: This course gives a thorough idea of the marketing of goods and services across the political and geographical boundaries. It gives the idea of Product Marketing in different cultures, Social values, & different political to economic environment. This course helps to prepare the students for new trade & business challenges such as WTO & standardization of Products.
608 SPSS for Researchers/Internship Report.: This software tool is used for statistical research and surveys. This is of high utility to the students of Commerce who have sufficient abilities of statistics and want to refine their hands with the Management Information System environment
