COURSES (M.F.A ):-
FIRST TERM:
Drawing: The course covers study of proportions of the human figure in detail. Various studio and out-door exercises help to develop the confidence of an emerging artist to be able to work independently.
Major: A student has to select one course for specialization out of the following Major fields:
I. Fine Arts (Painting)
The course aims to develop visual experience through various exercise, so that students may be able to create images on the two dimensional surface which reflect their personal worlds.
II. Advertising & Publicity Design:
The course stresses on professional training through learning of skills and techniques necessary for entering the professional market as a creative designer.
III. Textile Designing:
The course covers various techniques of Screen, Batik, Block Printing and Weaving with emphasis on creativity.
In all disciplines, the student is required to develop a portfolio in the professional direction to work towards a final project.
History of Art: The course is divided into two parts
I. Muslim Art: with emphasis on painting in the sub continent.
II. European Painting: A detailed study of movements in arts in the 20th century.
Research Methodology: The course covers definition of Research, Promulgation of Problem and different processes necessary for conducting research so that a student is able to conduct research for his/her thesis project.
(Exhibition of Work) Work carried out during the year is displayed and evaluated.
SECOND TERM
Thesis: In second term students are given a choice between a Dissertation of 3000 words or a Practical Thesis with a Report of 1000 words on an approved topic. The research is carried out under the guidance of a panel of Advisors. Students are required to defend their Research before a Board.
