INTRODUCTION :

The Department of International Relations started functioning as an independent department in 1984. Professor Dr Raja Muhammad Naib was the first Chairman of the Department of International Relations. Earlier it had been a part of the Department of Political Science. Ever since its establishment, the department has never looked back and is one of the most distinguished and fast developing departments of the University of Peshawar. In addition to B.A (Hons) leading to Master degree, which is a three years course, the department also offers M.Phil and Ph.D programmes. The department also excels in co-curricular activities such as seminars, debates, declamation contests, and open discussions on matters of national and international importance. For this purpose the department has a students’ society, called International Relations Students Association (IRSA). Moreover the Deptt. also publishes a students’ magazine Mosaic- on annual basis.

Admission Criteria:

1. Ist Priority: At least 45% marks in BA as well as in the subject of I.R.
2. 2 nd Priority: 2 nd Class BA with one of the following subject, securing at least 45% marks in it: Economics, Psychology, Journalism, Sociology, Philosophy, Law, History, Political Science & Geography
